Essploding at 21 weeks

This is a weird picture (David, stop being so weird!) but my belly is exploding so just wanted to show you the difference 2 weeks seems to have made. Sheesh.

We are starting work on a new EP, with hopes of largely getting it done before this little dude comes.  Who knows if it will happen, but I have to say, we started Weds night and we already have sketches for 4 songs, so who knows.  We both know that it's going to be very hard to get it done for a while after he comes so really want to stay on top of our creative output as much as we can.  Wish us luck and lots of visits from the Muses.

20 Week Scan - Big Update

The time is getting closer.  The RozeBud is 20 weeks and measuring exactly on target for a June 9th delivery at this point. Everything went perfectly and he seems to be doing just fine in there.  He was a lot bigger than last time we saw him about 6 weeks ago.  154 bpm heart rate, 12 oz so far.  Here are the pics they gave us:

I swear he is a lot nicer to look at when he's moving around than these creepy static shots.  They wouldn't let us film anything due to lawsuit stuff.  (sigh)

So from this, we are gathering he looks like ET mixed with an ancient turtle, sporting a bad headache.

In other news, we've gotten some amazing things in the mail.  Each time something arrives I'm always surprised by how thoughtful and sweet the stuff is, and how it makes this all more and more of a reality every day.  And then I cry.

Aunt Maria sent me this hat and booties that my grandmother had knitted that she hadn't even known existed until she found it recently!  She feels sure it was meant for our baby.  I can tell you that just means the world to me to have a link to my grandmother, who I think would be so excited that we were finally going to have a baby after all this time.

We got this package today from Sarah and James.  It is FULL of AMAZING goodies, including this adorable rock and roll gear.  Well, I'll tell you, this was overwhelming, too!  Such a nice surprise and full of thoughtful things. Most of all, it's so weird because now we have real CLOTHES for this human on his way here, and it feels so much more concrete and real when it's in your hands like that (and on the ultrasound screen).  This is all so overwhelming.

I also get a ton of helpful tips via email, text message, and twitter from other mom friends of mine.  They are amazing!  And we are inheriting a crib and a ton of other helpful items from our friends Pam and Kevin, which is just an incredible blessing!  And my friends Tifanie and Mary are going to throw us a shower in May!  I really don't know what to say except thank you.  We are full of gratitude through this humbling experience.  Now go about your business and try not to have nightmares of the ET turtle.

I'm 19 weeks.  Next Weds we'll go for the big 20 week scan, so we'll probably have pictures from that.

I had a lady at the gym say to me last night, I'm not kidding, "Oh, you're pregnant?  I thought you wouldn't just get fat for no reason!"  THANKS, LADY!

Gender Announcement

In case you are behind on the news, we found out we are having a boy.  Y chromosome, check.  All his tests are looking excellent and all his chromosomes are right where they should be.  My big 20 week scan is in a couple weeks and then I will have more fancy/creepy pictures to share.  From those of you who have had boys, I would love any advice or tips you have to offer.

I am very close to needing to wear maternity on a constant basis.  Not that I'm in a rush, but it is getting a little uncomfortable.  I am in that weird middle stage where I look just off and everything I wear feels strange.  I don't recognize this person in the mirror right now.

After a VERY long month of hard work, we are finally moved in to our new place.  We are about 70% of the way towards having things put away and settled in.  Chuck is about to be visiting us for a week so much of it will have to be put on hold until he has left, which is ok.  We are exhausted.  Just exhausted.  We seriously haven't had a moment to think straight in weeks.  Pretty much missed the holidays, but that is really fine, because I'm sure next year will be very fun with our new little RozeBud.
